Email Security

When it comes to email, I help clients move beyond basic filtering to a state of total communication resilience using Mimecast and advanced security protocols. Email remains the primary gateway for cyberattacks, so I implement a multi-layered "wrapper" around your inbox that stops threats long before they reach a user. By leveraging AI-powered detection and real-time URL inspection, I ensure that even the most convincing "Zero-Day" phishing attempts and impersonation attacks are neutralized, protecting your company’s reputation and financial assets.

My role is to transform Mimecast from a complex security tool into a seamless, automated defense system. I configure advanced features like Attachment Protect (which sandboxes files in a safe environment) and Impersonation Protect (which flags sophisticated "CEO fraud" or lookalike domains). Additionally, I ensure your business stays operational even during a primary mail server outage through Email Continuity services. By managing the technical heavy lifting—from DMARC authentication to policy-based encryption—I make sure your email is not just a communication tool, but a secure, compliant, and always-available asset.

Advanced Email Pillars

  • Threat Prevention: Using AI and machine learning to block ransomware, spear-phishing, and "quishing" (QR code phishing).

  • URL & Attachment Sandboxing: Real-time scanning of every link at the "time of click" and deep analysis of files to strip out malicious code.

  • Email Continuity: Providing a 100% service availability SLA so your team can send and receive mail even if Microsoft 365 or your server goes down.

  • Data Leak Prevention (DLP): Automatically scanning outbound mail to prevent sensitive information (like credit card numbers or PII) from leaving the building.

Case Study

Many clients ask for some protection against the daily barrage of spam and phishing emails that businesses and individuals receive.  And my go to for years as a corporate Head of IT was Mimecast - it is now my go to for my clients too.

Mimecast is easy  to deploy and has a vast array of policies and definitions that protect the client's inbox against daily threats.  It is easy for a user to see when ans why an email has been held or rejected, and it's also just as easy for the user to control the narrative by releasing, permitting or blocking that email.
